Do I Need Condominium Insurance Coverage?
Most condominium homeowners associations will have a master insurance policy that covers the outside structure or structures. A Condominium Insurance Policy (HO-6 Policy) from the Western Mutual Insurance Group provides coverage designed to protect the individual unit owner's interests, including:
- Additions and alterations the owner has made to the interior of the condominium
- Personal property
- Personal liability protection
Additionally, if your condominium is rendered uninhabitable by a covered loss, your Condominium Insurance Policy will also provide coverage for the additional living expenses you and your family incur while the property is being repaired. Association special loss assessments may be covered up to $1,000, with additional loss assessment coverage available.
What Types of Losses Does Condominium Insurance Cover?
A Condominium Insurance Policy provides coverage for losses arising from common perils such as fire, theft, vandalism and accidental water damage. Optional flood and earthquake coverages are also available to you for extra peace of mind.
Is Condominium Insurance Affordable?
Since Condominium Insurance typically provides limited structure coverage (because that is primarily covered by the association's master policy), the coverage is usually less expensive than a similar Homeowners Insurance policy. Try our quick 1-Click Condominium Insurance Quote process to see how affordable this important coverage can be.
